Hello!

 

I am Sage, the artist and creator behind Cone 11. I am a scientist by day and a creator of fine art and handmade ceramics 24/7. My love of ceramics first formed in my mom's home studio, but really blossomed in college as a way to relieve the stress of exams. Cone 11 was created partially as a way to share my artwork with the community, but also out of necessity; my house is packed with way too much pottery!

One of my favorite works is a set of nesting bowls named “The Baker’s Dozen”. Thirteen bowls glazed in a beautiful rutile blue, these bowls graduate in size from a teaspoon, tablespoon, quarter cup, half cup, full cup, all the way to a massive beach ball-sized bread bowl. Perfect for making bread, cakes, and large meals, these bowls were thrown to push the limits of what's possible in a nesting set. Most impressed by my works is my cat, Tiny Dancer, who, for some reason, loves to throw bowls.
